During the economic crisis, several think thank in US questioning whether the economy is only limited to goods and services only. MIT Center of Digital Business (Erik Brynjolfsson and Andrew McAfee) thinks not and support the idea of “Data-Driven Economy” which their landmark book of:
“Race against the machine: how digital revolution accelerating innovation driving productivity and irreversibly transforming employment economy”
The current of FOXCONN Manufacturing of most Iphone and Androids, will replace 1 Mill of workers in China with ABB Robots called FRIDA and I believe soon certain services will follows with the advancement of artificial intelligence.
So the ‘raw’ material is no longer ‘material’, but perhaps data for workers to transform into usable information or – then – knowledge.
